What is Sculptra Aesthetic?

Volume loss occurs naturally during the aging process, especially in the face, as the cheeks tend to become hollow and flat. Beverly Farris, FNP-C, and the team at AestheticFX Med Spa offer Sculptra Aesthetic, a poly-L-lactic acid-based dermal filler that allows for fuller and longer-lasting volume in the mid-face. In addition to restoring the fullness of the mid-face, Sculptra can decrease the appearance of shallow to deep wrinkles and lines, including the nasolabial folds (also known as laugh or smile lines) that go from the outside of the nose to the outer corners of the mouth. With a unique formula approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Sculptra prompts the natural production of collagen in your body, so even if you stop injections, your complexion should still be healthier compared to before Sculptra injections. We recommend a series between 2-3, depending on the volume loss of the patient. Each session is every 6 to 8 weeks. Schedule an appointment for a consultation at AestheticFX Med Spa in Frisco, TX to learn more about the advantages of this injectable treatment.

How Are Sculptra Injections Performed?

Following your consultation to determine your treatment plan, you will receive your Sculptra injections in one of our private procedure rooms. Your injector may apply numbing cream or local anesthetic prior to sterilizing and marking the injection sites. Once you are prepared, the filler will be injected into the deeper skin layers at the selected sites. For best results, Beverly Farris and the AestheticFX Med Spa team recommend a series of four injections, each scheduled at our Frisco, TX facility about three weeks apart.

Sculptra FAQs

How much does Sculptra cost?
Treatments with Sculptra can vary in price based on how many units are needed to achieve your goals. Some patients may also need several treatments for the best results. During your consultation at our Med Spa, your injector will listen to your goals and customize a treatment plan for your specific budget.

How does Sculptra work?
Using poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), Sculptra is a collagen stimulator. It helps to rejuvenate the skin’s inner structure and appearance as more collagen is formed. The increased collagen will effectively fill out lines and wrinkles.

Are Sculptra injections safe?
Sculptra is approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and it has a long history of safety worldwide since the late 1990s. Though side effects are rare, they can include slight pain, bruising, inflammation, and redness. In some cases, small bumps may appear when pressure is put on the injected area. Please contact our Med Spa if you experience any abnormal or lasting side effects.
