What are Injectable dermal Fillers?

Injectable dermal fillers are often utilized to replenish lost facial volume. The face can lack volume for a number of reasons, but significant weight loss and age are common contributors. The process works by injecting the liquefied dermal filler beneath the skin to fill in the areas that appear sunken or hollow. Injectable fillers are a great, minimally invasive option for Prosper, McKinney, and Plano, TX men and women desiring to even out wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin in order to create a more youthful appearance. At AestheticFX, we are proud to offer:

  • JUVÉDERM Ultra XC: Adds shape to the upper lip, lower lip, or the entire mouth and corrects vertical lines on the lips

  • JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC: Adds to the contour of the cheeks to treat volume lost with age in the mid-face

  • JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC: Treats wrinkles and lines throughout the face and around the nose and mouth

  • Restylane®: Corrects facial folds and wrinkles

  • Restylane® Lyft: Creates volume and lift in the cheeks

  • Restylane® Defyne: Corrects deep smile and laugh wrinkles

  • Restylane® Refyne: Treats moderate laugh and smile lines

How Do Dermal Fillers Work?

Prior to your dermal filler injection, we will conduct a private consultation with you to learn more about your aesthetic goals and determine which product will best achieve them so we can create a custom treatment plan. For the actual procedure, we will apply topical numbing cream as a local anesthetic to ease the discomfort of the injection. From there, we will slowly and meticulously inject the dermal filler via a very fine needle. Keeping the desired result in mind, either a portion or an entire syringe could be used. Injectable fillers are done as an in-office procedure in a very short amount of time. Because of the anesthetic, the process is usually only mildly uncomfortable and requires little to no downtime afterward. There may be some bruising and swelling immediately after, but these symptoms should fade away within a few short days. Results typically last from three months to a full year based on the type of filler used and the placement of the injection. To maintain optimal results, we may recommend touch-ups.
